I’m pleased to announce the Office of U.S. Senator John Cornyn will host a South Texas Service Academy Day at UT Pan American Edinburg on Sunday, April 29, 2007

from 2:00 p.m. – 4 p.m.   

This Academy Day event will familiarize students, parents and high school guidance counselors with the application and nomination process for the academies.

Each U.S. Service Academy prepares its students to serve their country through rigorous academics and leadership training.  Full scholarships are offered for admitted students. 

Representatives from each of the five service academies - Air Force Academy, Coast Guard Academy, Military Academy at West Point, Merchant Marine Academy and Naval Academy – will be on-site to meet and talk personally with those interested in this unmatched opportunity. 

Also in attendance will be staff from the offices of Senator John Cornyn, Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison, Congressman Henry Cuellar, Congressman Ruben Hinojosa and Congressman Solomon Ortiz to provide information on the congressional nomination process.
